Came here based on recommendations and it did not disappoint. The views were largely nice and when we arrived the trail wasn't too packed. We were able to walk at our own pace, enjoy the scenery and wander the trails as we pleased. We even had the chance to see the ocean, albeit it waaaaay in the background.

Overall, this was an excellent experience!

this is such a pretty reserve, easy to get to, and ample free parking.  the sole trail is a mile-long gravelled loop that winds through the woods and along the salt marsh.  for those with limited mobility, it's nicely maintained and essentially flat, wide enough for up to 3 abreast in most places, and easily accommodates strollers, wheelchairs, and other assistive devices.  there are several benches strategically placed along the trail to offer rest and a moment to enjoy the view, and viewing platforms.   although fairly well trafficked during the season, this pretty trail still provides a peaceful respite in the woods with a little tang of salt air.  and sometimes mudflats.  but it's maine.

leashed dogs are welcome (byo poop bags, and no trash cans so it's carry in/carry out).  my bullies LOVE this trail for snuffling!  this evening we saw ducks, a chippy, and one of my beloved barred owls.  you'll see a lot of winterberry growing alongside the trails along the forest floor, several woodland wildflower species,  and it's a great place to get a close-up look at the creepy (and somewhat scarce) Indian pipe "ghost plant."  this odd little wildflower contains no chlorophyll, and it has both fascinated and creeped me out ever since my gram introduced me to it as a child.  i love to see it growing so abunsantly here.  check it out.

A beautiful 1 mile loop and an easy walk. Got to see a lot of wildlife like herons and greater yellow feet. My stop was completely unplanned, but I'm glad I took time to enjoy the autumn colors and wet lands.

Very nice wildlife refuge, wonderful outdoor space with buildings and trails that lead down to the ocean. Many people were out birdwatching when I was there. Lots of fresh air and sunshine - easy to spend a few hours there. Bring binoculars, a camera, a journal. Enjoy!

Stopped by the visitor center before heading out on the trail and glad we did. Ranger Tom hooked our kids up with Junior Ranger pamphlets with fun activities for the kids to complete during our hike. At the end, they got sworn in as junior rangers and earned the cutest little badges. Beautiful, easy, shaded hike. Hard to capture in a picture how lovely the marshes are

This is a really calm place for a walk and to take in the views. We went here in summer and enjoyed the trail with all the little viewpoints!
