Buying a home, especially one in a country where ones first language is not Spanish was one of the most challenging and biggest decisions we made in our life. It's been a journey fraught with research and required ample levels of trust. Such trust and our relationship with the company began in October 2021.

Santiago is a phenomenal agent who is passionate about the real estate business and the needs of his clients. Although extremely professional he has a bright and friendly demeanour. From the outset he established our expectations regarding purchasing a property, budget and wish list. He explained fully the whole process of purchasing a home from offer to completion in Spain with no stone unturned.

He first discussed his research of potential properties with us virtually and then arranged to collect us to view several properties when we arrived in Spain from the U.K. He was so great to work with and made the whole viewing of properties a fun and exciting experience. Nothing was too much trouble and in our opinion he went above and beyond what we expected of him.

Santiagos contacts in the local area ( thankfully for us were all able to speak English) guided us effortlessly through the process. He in turn introduced us to a local Bank Manager who helped us set up a Spanish bank account and a lawyer to help with the logistics and process of purchasing the chosen property and securing a Non Lucrative Visa.

Santiago’s knowledge of the area was key when it came to choosing the right property for us, after all this would be our forever home not just a holiday stay. He was aware of all our specific needs in relation to not wanting to live on a building site and his contacts with local developers and agents raised our awareness to any future building projects and their possible if any effects on us . After an initial search of properties was not ticking all the boxes on the wish list Santiago pulled out the ‘wild card’ in relation to style and location, a place we initially discarded. He actually knew our needs better than ourselves! Then as they say ‘the rest was history’ .

Once the right property was found he worked tirelessly with his boss, the seller and their agent to get the apartment for the best price possible and liaised with our lawyer and bank manager to help with the transition from buyer to the home owners of an amazing 2 bed property on the El Higueron Reserve Benalmadena with uninterrupted sea views.

During the sale Santiago moved areas with the company but assured us that he would remain in contact with us through the latter stages of the sale. During this time he also helped us with the complexities and language barriers of setting up utilities and wifi and came to our aid when the transactions with the seller raised issues. He was there to smooth the way to a reasonable conclusion.

In summary we have now been residing in our forever home for the last few weeks. We have to keep pinching ourselves as this has been our dream for a very long time. Thank you SPAINHOMES (Santiago and team) from the bottom of our hearts for enabling us to live our dream .
